About Conventions

Eurocon is an annual science fiction and fantasy convention held  in different European countries and coordinated by the European Science Fiction Society.

The first Eurocon was held in Trieste, Italy, in 1972.

The members of each Eurocon vote both to select the site of the Eurocon two years later and to select the winners of the European Science Fiction Society Awards, which are presented at the convention. In 2013 during the convention in Kiev, St. Petersburg won the rights to host the event in 2015.
